Every patient has the right to receive quality, respectful, and safe healthcare.

Kowsar Medical, Educational, and Therapeutic Center is committed to protecting the rights of all patients. The following charter outlines the fundamental rights every patient is entitled to during their treatment journey — regardless of ethnicity, culture, religion, gender, or illness.

Access to Quality Care

  • Patients have the right to receive quality health services.
  • Services must be provided with respect for human dignity, values, and beliefs — without discrimination based on ethnicity, culture, religion, gender, or illness.
  • Health services must be delivered as quickly as possible, respecting patient time.
  • In emergency cases, patients must receive quality services regardless of cost.
  • In non-emergency cases, services are provided according to legal guidelines.
  • If appropriate emergency services are not possible, patients must be transferred to another hospital after receiving emergency care and sufficient information.

Information & Education

  • Sufficient information must be provided appropriately.
  • Patients must be educated about their treatment process.
  • Factors such as patient characteristics, education level, language, pain, and stress must be considered when providing information.
  • Patients have the right to access all information in their clinical case and request a copy — including corrections to any errors.
  • Patients must receive sufficient information about legal guidelines, costs, therapeutic and non-therapeutic services, insurance, and supporting systems before admission.
  • Patients have the right to make decisions about offered services without pressure.
  • Patients have the right to select the center and physician for their healthcare, according to legislation.
  • Patients have the right to request a second opinion or consultation with another physician.
  • After receiving sufficient information, patients have the right to enough time to make appropriate decisions.

Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Privacy and confidentiality must be considered for all patients.
  • All information in patients' clinical cases must be kept confidential.
  • Confidentiality may only be violated with legal permission.
  • Patients have the right to receive the facilities required to protect their privacy.
  • Patients' privacy must be respected at all stages of the treatment process.
  • Clinical case information can only be accessed by the patient, the treatment team, and legal authorities.
  • Patients have the right to be accompanied by someone trustworthy throughout all stages of treatment — including diagnosis and examination.

Legal Rights & Complaints

  • Patients have the right to access a legal system to file lawsuits.
  • If patients believe their rights have been violated during treatment, they have the right to file a lawsuit — without affecting the quality of care they receive.
  • Patients have the right to be informed about the legal process of their lawsuit.
  • Medical errors that occur during service delivery must be compensated as quickly as possible, in accordance with legislation and legal guidelines.
